Archangels Update - September 1st

Since Monday is Labor Day and they're predicting the temperature to be in the 100's, we've decided to cancel practice. I hate losing practice time, especially when our first league game is coming up, but at least we got some good practice/playing time in the tournament. 

Also, it's getting dark earlier, so we'll need to start adjusting our practice times accordingly. Starting on Thursday, September 7th, we'll begin practicing at 6:45pm and we'll go to dark, which should be around 8 or 8:15pm. 

On another note, I wanted to thank everyone again for helping to make the tournament happen last weekend. It was a lot of fun and it was a great experience for the boys! I know the weather was really hot, we were really short-handed and we took a little bit of a beating from some really good select teams, but sometimes it's the tough experiences that help us grow the most! We learned a lot as a team, and as coaches, and I would like to do it again, if possible.

If we do enter another tournament, we'll be in better shape the next time around, I'll also make sure we've got enough players committed to every game and that the competition is a little more even. I was led to believe our division was going to be a mix of lower tiered select teams and rec teams and that wasn't the case. We only got one lower tiered select team and not a single recreational team. BTW...the last team we played, on Saturday, won the championship. I'm not surprised!

Games start in a week, so I hope everyone has their jerseys & equipment squared away. As soon as I get our game schedule, I'll get it posted and get our blog updated, so we can get this season kicked off!
